JUNE 26th, 2008 - RENZO GRACIE Annual Promotion Day. In addition to many belts awarded by Renzo Gracie, students in attendance got to watch a preview of the Documentary of Renzo made by one of his students, Gethin.

August 3rd, 2008 - One week after being awarded his yellow belt from Professors Joe Capizzi and Edgar Chutan, NYCBJJ student Christian Buddhi won first place in 2 divisions at the NAGA Battle of the Beach Tournament. He received 2 gold medals and a Samurai Sword.
August 2nd, 2008 - Jon Burke received his blue belt from Joe Capizzi.
August, 2008 - NYCBJJ is now the official representative of Team Renzo Gracie in Staten Island, NY. Our school is listed under the Affiliated Academies link at the Renzo Gracie website: http://www.renzogracie.com/team-renzo-gracie/affiliated-academies/
NYCBJJ Professor Joseph Capizzi was recently featured in the June 2008 issue of Gracie Magazine.
